Western Union® Card Enrollments

The following instructions apply to Western Union Card enrollments.  You can enroll a consumer in the Card program with or without a transaction.

When enrolling a consumer with a transaction, all of his/her information entered in the Transaction Details tab is saved and used to create a Western Union Card profile for the customer.

When beginning a send money transaction, the Express Services Screen dialog box appears automatically.

If the consumer already has a card, Type his/her Western Union Card number or telephone number or swipe the card and the sender’s information is automatically inserted into the 2. Transaction Details tab.

If no card is presented, select the Cancel (Esc) key to close the Western Union/SwiftPay window and continue the Send Money transaction.

Enrolling a consumer with a transaction

Follow these steps to enroll a customer in the card program and perform a transaction.

  1. From the Main Menu, click the Send Money (F5) button or press the F5 key.
    The Express Services Screen dialog box appears.

  1. If this is a new customer, select this option to enroll them in the Western Union Card Program.

The Transaction Destination dialog box is displayed:

Select one of the following:

  • USA: If the receiver is in the USA.

  • Quick Pay: If the receiver is a Quick Pay company.

  • International: If the receiver is in any country other than USA or Mexico.

  • Mexico: If the receiver is in Mexico.

Click OK (Enter) or press the Enter key and continue recording the transaction.

Click the Cancel (Esc) button or press the Esc key to return to the Express Services Screen dialog box.

  1. Fill out the transaction information, if you have a preprinted Western Union® Card or Gold Card, either swipe it or key in the number in the Card number field; If you do not have a Card leave this field empty and the system will automatically assign a Card number.

  1. Press enter or click the validate button and submit afterwards to successfully send the transaction and provide the customer with the MTCN and the Card Number.

Enrolling a consumer without a transaction

Follow these steps to enroll a new Western Union cardholder without entering a transaction.

  1. From the Main Menu, click the Enroll without Transaction (Alt-E) button or press the Alt-E keys.
    The Loyalty Card Program Enrollment screen appears.

  1. If pre-printed Western Union Cards are available at your location, swipe the Card or type the Card number in the Card Number box (maximum of 26 numeric characters).

Notes: When an incorrect number is entered, a message appears, advising no record was found. Retry your entry.

If pre-printed Western Union Cards are not available, the system automatically assigns a number when finishing the enrollment process.

  1. Select the down-arrow to the right of the Transaction Destination list box to display a list of transactions.  Select the desired transaction.
  2. Under Cardholder Information, select one of three option buttons labeled:
  • First / Last

  • Business

  • Paternal / Maternal

  1. Type all consumer detailed information.
    Use the following tables as guides to complete the form.

First / Last:

City or town of cardholder (maximum 39 alpha/numeric characters).  If not required of the cardholder, does not display.

State

State, Province, or local area of cardholder (maximum 25 alpha/numeric characters).  If not required of the cardholder, does not display.

Zip

Zip or Postal Code of cardholder (maximum 10 alpha/numeric characters).  If not required of the cardholder, does not display.

Country

Country of cardholder (maximum 39 alpha/numeric characters).  Click the down arrow to the right of the country box to select the country from the list.    If not required of the cardholder, does not display.

Note: The address format may vary depending on the country selected.

  1. Select one of the following:

  • Click the Enroll (Enter) button or press the Enter key to complete the enrollment.
    The 2. Finish tab appears.

  • Click the Cancel (Esc) button or press the Esc key to terminate the enrollment and return to the Main Menu.
