Quick Pay Transaction

The Western Union® Quick Pay® service is a bill paying service which allows customers to send payments to companies.

The transfer amount cannot exceed $5,000.00 and must be paid in cash.   Depending upon the company this service may be free or include a flat or discounted rate. The following instructions apply to Quick Collect payments being sent to any company participating in the Quick Collect program.

To complete a Quick Pay transaction

  1. From the Main Menu, click the Send Money button or press the F5 key.

The Express Services Screen appears.

  1. From the Express Services Screen, do one of the following:

  • Choose the type of search and enter the information. Press Enter or Click the Search Button to get the results.

Note: If the customer does not have an account number and does not want to enroll, select Cancel (Esc).  For enrollment with or without a transaction, please see the instructions for Western Union Card Enrollment.

The Send Money Menu appears.

  1. From the Send Money Menu, click the Quick  Collect button or press the F6 key.
    The Quick Pay screen appears with the 1. Company Selection tab.

Company Selection tab

  1. Under Search By, select Company Name or press the Alt-C keys and the right and left arrow keys on your keyboard to change the search criteria to Code City. Use the arrow keys, Page Up or Page Down keys, or the scroll bar to scroll through the list.

Notes: When searching by company name, enter the first few letters of the company name in the Company Name text box above the company list to quickly find the company. The list is sorted by company name.

When searching by code city, enter the first few letters or numbers of the code city in the Code City text box above the company list to quickly find the company.  When the search criteria is by code city, the company list is sorted by the code city.

  1. Select one of the following:
  • Click the Back to Main (Esc) button or press the Esc key to return to the Main Menu.

  • Click the Next (Enter) button or press the Enter key to display the 2. Transaction Details tab.

There are two tabs within the 2. Transaction Details tab.

  • Company

  • Sender

Note:  Company and City/Locale are automatically populated from the Company Selection list.

The following table describes each screen element in the 2. Transaction Details tab.

Screen Element

Description

Financial Information

Amount being sent and type of currency.

Send Amount

F6 – Currency Conv. – Currency conversion.

Receive Amount

  • Advisory – default unless the selected country allows fixed transactions only.  The payout amount is equivalent to what the currency is worth on the date of payout.

  • Fixed – the fixed payout amount does not fluctuate.  The receiver receives the amount shown.

Company

Automatically populated with the name of company selected on the Company Selection list and the company location.

Sender

Sender related information.

  • First / Last, (default)(maximum 39 alphanumeric characters)

  • Business (maximum 39 alphanumeric characters each)

  • Paternal / Maternal (Select to display first name, paternal, maternal)(maximum 39 alphanumeric characters each)

Financial Summary

Information related to the amount being sent.  Information is filled in automatically and is not editable.

Additional Services (Alt-D)

Note: Depending on what is configured in the Agent Configuration utility, some services may not be enabled.

These are the Additional Services available:

When a service is selected or information is entered, an indicator displays in the group box identifying a particular service has been selected (e.g. a Test Question was entered, Test Question included displays in the Additional Services group.

Once above information is added, the financial summary is adjusted.

  1. Type the information in the 2. Transaction Details tab.
  2. Refer to the Collect Amount field on the right-hand side of the screen.  This is the total amount the consumer owes including any fees.
  3. Collect the funds from the consumer and place the money collected in a secure area.
  4. Select one of the following:

Return to the 1. Company Selection tab.

Return to the Main Menu.

When selected, a confirmation message dialog box appears: Cancel this transaction?


Select:

  • Cancel this transaction and return to the Main Menu.  Click the OK (Enter) button or press the Enter key.

  • Change to another Western Union Product. From the drop-down list, select the product. Click the OK (Enter) button or press the Enter key. The dialog box for the specific product appears.

Display the Agent Information dialog box.

Note: This option will be available depending on your configuration.

The following table lists each of the five configurations, displays received, and steps to take.

The print instructions dialog box appears with directions for printing the receipt.  Go to step 8.

Verify Send Money collect support dialog box appears with the following message:

Have you collected this amount?

After collecting the amount, select OK (Enter).

If using:

Non-negotiable paper, the 3. Finish tab appears.  Go to step 17.

Negotiable paper, the Collect Amount dialog box appears.  Go to step 14.

Verify + Warn Send Money collect support dialog box appears with the following message at the top:

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! DID YOU COLLECT FOR THIS TRANSACTION! IF NOT, DON’T SEND IT.

Under total collect amount, the message reads:

Have you collected this amount?

After collecting the amount, click the OK (Enter) button or press the Enter key.

If using:

Non-negotiable paper, the 3. Finish tab appears.  Go to step 17.

Negotiable paper, the Collect Amount dialog box appears.  Go to step 14.

Manual Send Money collect support dialog box appears with the following message:

Enter the total amount collected

After collecting the amount, manually type the amount in the blank field, then click the OK (Enter) button or press the Enter key.

If using:

Non-negotiable paper, the 3. Finish tab appears.  Go to step 17.

Negotiable paper, the Print Instructions dialog box appears.  Go to step 14.

Manual + Warn Send Money collect support dialog box appears with the following message at the top:

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! DID YOU COLLECT FOR THIS TRANSACTION! IF NOT, DON’T SEND IT.

Under total collect amount, the message reads:

Enter the total amount collected

After collecting the amount, manually type the amount in the blank field, then click the OK (Enter) button or press the Enter key.

If using:

Non-negotiable paper, the 3. Finish tab appears.  Go to step 17.

Negotiable paper, the Print Instructions dialog box appears.  Go to step 14.

  1. Click the Submit (Enter) button or press the Enter key to process.

  2. A pop-up dialog box appears asking, “Are you sure you want to submit this transaction?”

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Click the Yes button to submit.

    • Click the No button to cancel and return to the 2. Transaction Details tab.

  1. A dialog box will automatically appear with a fraud warning.  Review the fraud warning and then type the amount collected in the Enter the total amount collected field.

  1. Click the OK (Enter) button to submit or the Cancel (Esc) button to cancel. The Print Instructions dialog box appears.

  2. Follow the instructions in the Print Instructions dialog box to print the transaction receipt.

  1. Select OK (Enter).
    The automated receipt prints and the 3. Finish tab appears.

Note: If the receipt does not print, complete the gray-shaded section of the blue “To send a payment via Quick Collect” form.  For instructions, click Agent Send Money Form Instructions.

  1. Follow the instructions in the 2. Finish tab, then select Done (Enter).
    The Main Menu appears.
