May 27, 2018

Below are the screens and associated flow for which the ESD processing is performed for each new feature.

6.6.1 Download Only

When ESD is triggered manually, the user is prompted to enter the terminal ID

If the terminal ID entered is different than the one configured for Translink:

Then, the following pop up message will be shown:

If the user selects “Yes”, ESD will download to the configured ESD Download folder and automatically install the software
when the download is completed.
If the user selects not to download, then, the following pop up will be shown:

If the user selects “No”, the download will start and the software will be stored in the configured ESD Download folder.
If the user selects “Yes”, then the following screen will be shown:

The default location will be the configured in ESD download folder, so if, without making any changes the user clicks OK, or
Cancel, the download will proceed to the configured folder.
In this screen, the user can choose the folder where the software will be stored and even create a new folder by clicking on
“Make New Folder” button.
If “Make New Folder” button is pressed, a new folder will be created under the selected location. The user can then rename
and select the new folder for download.

Once the customized location is chosen and the user clicks OK, the download will start.
Once the download is completed, the following message will be shown:

By clicking on the OK button, ESD application will close.
When choosing to only download the software, ESD will store the downloaded package in a new folder named
“PackageName_TerminalID” under the chosen location, as shown in the image below. This way, all downloads can be
uniquely identified by the user.

NOTE: The download-only functionality will always be triggered when Translink is not present on the PC, since Translink
Terminal ID will not be configured.
This functionality will never be shown when Translink triggers ESD automatically.

6.6.2 Transact and download

If Translink is running when the download is complete, the following message will be shown:

Figure 63 Translink updates are ready notification

If the FLA exits Translink, installation will automatically start up to one minute later. ESD will show the message above
every hour to remind the FLA that there is a pending installation.
If the PC is shut down before the installation starts, next time ESD is invoked, it will automatically start the installation if
Translink is not running, or will continue to show the messages of a pending install, if Translink is running.

6.6.3 Agent Initiated Fallback

Steps for an agent to initiate a Translink fallback:

  1. Go to Start->Programs->Western Union ESD-> Fallback Translink

  2. Fallback utility will prompt for the terminal ID and a password:

Once data is entered correctly, fallback utility will start and act exactly the same as an automatically triggered fallback.
The password for this utility is only requested when triggered manually and it is a fixed password (as in ESD Configuration
application).
